GHOST SCOUT'S HONOR, Scholastic April 2025

Picture
AN AMAZON BEST-SELLER! A thrilling, ghostly adventure…and a testament to the power that kids have to change the world.

Defiance holds power.

The Ghost Scouts were created to keep the ghosts of Savannah in line. It’s an honor to serve.Evey’s never wanted anything to do with ghosts, but after best friend, Laura, dumps her for no reason, Evey wants revenge. To take the student of the year award from her ex-bestie, she’ll have to join the Ghost Scouts. She’ll be the best Ghost Scouts Savannah has ever seen.Only this year the ghosts seem different. They are angrier than usual, and they seem to be growing in power. No problem, Evey can get to the bottom of why and send all the ghosts back to their cages. But what she uncovers makes her angry too. What if the ghosts don’t deserve to be caged? What if they have every right to be furious?

Reviews:

The portrayal of Evey’s neurodivergence and experiences with therapy is skillfully done. A spooky tale that will please readers who appreciate strong characterization. - Kirkus Reviews
Vivid language keeps the scare-factor high, as Blankenship-Kramer sculpts terrifying imagery of rotting flesh barely clinging to decomposed skeletal remains, but readers also see moments of emotional growth throughout, as Evey attends therapy sessions to address her feelings of anger and mistrust. Evey’s adventures with the dead will be a hit for middle grade readers who appreciate the historical/geographical context of paranormal lore, or as a preface to the likes of Lindsay Currie. - The Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books

IP Projects I'd Love to Write:

  • Video game centered stories. As a huge gamer, I am familiar with most franchises. However, some dreams would be Sims, Stardew, Resident Evil, Zelda, Skyrim, Fortnite, Minecraft, Valorant, and many, many more.
  • Above all, though, Pokémon, if you're listening, hit me up.
  • I got started writing through online roleplays. I'd love to do something to places like Neopets or Pony Island.
  • My most favorite movie of all time is How to Train Your Dragon. But I also love Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron just as much.
  • Disney! Let's chat! I'd love to do some IP work with you.

My short story, TELL THE SOIL A SECRET, was published by Ember: A Journal of Lumonious Things.
"Little flowers aren’t enough for Mom to get back to the way we were before. She needs a whole garden. A magical garden, to bring the light back."
