Carey Blankenship's headshot. The digital content creator and freelancer is standing against a brick background, smiling at the camera. She is wearing a pale pink shirt with a brown cardigan, a small silver necklace, and brown glasses. Her hair is just past her shoulders, straight, and a brownish red.
"My first and true love is writing. I have big goals I can't wait to cross off my list one day. Nothing is off limits as a Taurus! Bottomline, I'll always be crafting stories that show anxious little girls like I once was that they are stronger than their biggest nightmares."
After growing up surrounded by books and people who loved to read them, Carey debut novel, GHOST SCOUTS HONOR, was published by Scholastic April 2025. And yes, she does have experience with how ghosts have zero respect for personal space. She is currently repped by Sheyla Knigge at High Line Literary Collective.

Carey started as a literary agent in 2023 at Belcastro Agency. She joined Azantian Literary Agency in 2025 where she represents both children's and adult fiction authors across a wide range of genres, with her priority being marginalized voices. She graduated from Berry College with a dual degree in English and Creative Writing and later received her master’s in Writing and Digital Communications from Agnes Scott College. She has been a member of the Association of American Literary Agents since April 2025.

Outside of work, you can usually find Carey spending time with her partner and their small zoo, getting way too competitive on the tennis court, playing video games, or eating candy.

The Zoo

Picture

Bolt

Shih Tzu, Jack Russel Terrier, and Miniature Pinscher mix. All energy and joy. Might be the spoiled baby of the family.

The Pride

From left to right: Benji, Bailey, and Luna. Luna is our oldest and is infamous for begging for food all day only to eat for a few seconds. Bailey is our middle cat and is missing all her teeth and her tail. Benji is out youngest and once disappeared for ten days until Mom found him while she was hiking through the woods at night.

Picture

Dessie

The sea monster, aka an axolotl. Maybe her mom became a horror writer because she once had to hand feed this creature blood worms every day.
Picture

The Piggies

Scarlet and Pippi! They tolerate Mom but love Dad.
